geo mith simitar

i am building cleric and up grading simitar but the thing appears uselss, am i missing something, was suggested i needed animal empathy so added lvl of ranger and max that for the lvl but sill nothing.?????

dont use in off hand

as yo u know you cant cast spells from artifact if you arent holding it, have ceri,s blade i always had simitar in off hand, DOESNT WORK. NEED TO HAVE IN MAIN HAND, . this could only happen to an idiot like me who at a low level learned to depend pon ceri.

the geo myth scimitar takes a lot of gold and upgrading before it becomes useful. ONLY after the level 21 upgrade does the scimitar actually buff the sunbeam spell (the spell on the scimitar itself is still fairly useless I believe). Animal Empathy does boost it as well and the scimitar works in both main and offhand since most clerics will dual wield a pair of the scimitars for best sunbeam damage.

Actually two sims mean a sim in strong hand that powers both, at lvl34 Cheri in main hand sim in off hand I was getting 4-9 damage. Frustrated I gave Cheri back to sho to kill fire and acid clones. Having no outher weapon fry had sim in lead hand and lo and behold 300 -400 damage, sim must be in lead hand

One scim in the main hand is needed to register that you have it equipped for the purposes of sunbeam. Your damage is currently 300 - 400 with it but when you include a second one in your offhand, this damage usually increases to about 500 - 600 roughly. It is probably a scripting thing that only triggers when it sees a scimitar in the main hand, checking to see if there is a second one in the offhand to boost the damage further.
